From NB_210_9_6

Four new chapters in the NEH have been drafted and proposed to replace the following
existing documents in the Electronic Directives System:

  • NEH, Section 18, Ground Water (June 1978).
  • Technical Release No. 36, Ground Water Recharge (June 1967).
  • NEH, Part 631, Chapter 33, Investigations for Ground Water Resources Development
    (November 1998).
Part 632 - Sedimentation Geology (formerly Section 3 - Sedimentation)
Part 633 - Soil Engineering

  • Chapter 26: Gradation Design of Sand and Gravel Filters (10/1994)
    • Most of the criteria in this document was originally issued in Soil Mechanics
Note 1, revised January 1986. This revision of Soil Mechanics Note 1 and
any future revisions of other Soil Mechanics Notes will be placed in the
National Engineering Handbook, Part 633, Soil Engineering. This material is
Chapter 26, Gradation Design of Sand and Gravel Filters.
Part 635 - Landscape Architecture

  • TR-210-65 - Procedures to Establish Priorities in Landscape Architecture (10/1978)

TN-210-LAN - Technical Notes: Landscape Architecture

  • TN_210_LAN_01 - Landscape Design in Mined Land Reclamation (9/1983)
  • TN_210_LAN_02 - Removed NB_210_10_2 Landscape Design: Ponds (9/1988)
  • TN_210_LAN_03 - Landscape and Wildlife Habitat Management in the Countryside (4/1987)

Part 636 - Structural Engineering

Flexible conduits used on NRCS projects typically consist of corrugated
metal pipe (CMP), various types of plastic pipe, steel pipe, or ductile iron
pipe. The design of these conduits was completed by allowable fill height
tables in various Conservation Practice Standards, guidance given in TR
77—Design and Installation of Flexible Conduits and the associated computer
program, and multiple technical notes developed by NRCS staff.

NEH 636 chapter 52 updates the design procedure to current industry and
government agency practice. Although symbols for conduit (pipe) design
vary among types of materials and industry guidance, those used in chapter
52 are consistent within the document (see appendix 52A). Appendix 52B
contains several design examples that were developed using the formulas
and information in this chapter.
